Biografie

Thomas Tilly is een muzikant die de microfoon en luidspreker gebruikt als belangrijkste creatie-instrumenten. Hij focust in zijn werk op het onderzoek van de geluidsomgeving en haar confrontatie met de ruimte waarin ze bestaat en hij ontleent zowel elementen uit het experimentele als wetenschappelijke muziekonderzoek. Thomas Tilly stelde zijn werk in verschillenden landen en op verschillende internationale festivals van experimentele en geïmproviseerde muziek voor: Audible Festival (Parijs), Météo (Mulhouse), Bruisme (Poitiers), Electricity (Reims), Avant avant garde (Krakow), Simultan (Timisoara), Magnetic Traces (Melbourne), Observatori (Valencia), Synthèse (Bourges), Bridge Festival (Bulgarije), Densités (Fresne-en-Woévre). Sinds 2001 is hij verantwoordelijk voor het label fissür en hij werkt ook occasioneel mee aan het schrijven van artikels over fonografie, over zijn theorie en praktijk.
